Data Gate system requirements
The following hardware and software requirements must be met to run the IBM Data Gate for z/OS service on IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
Version support
The current service version is IBM Data Gate for z/OS Version 5.0.0.
The current service version is compatible with:
- IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.8.0 (5737-H76)
- IBM Cloud Pak for Data Db2 (5737-L73)

Note:
- For optimal performance, at least a 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection is recommended between the IBM Z System and the IBM Cloud Pak for Data system.

z/OS Version 2.4 (5650-ZOS) or higher.
For the z/OS Communications Server component of z/OS, install the following program temporary fixes (PTFs):
Tip: To avoid a performance degradation during load operations, also install the PTF for APAR OA61558. - One of the following database management systems:
- IBM Db2 13 for z/OS (5698-DB2 or 5698-DBV)
- IBM Db2 12 for z/OS (5650-DB2® or 5770-AF3).

- Distributed data facility (DDF) with a secure port, configured for network encryption through AT-TLS. See Configuring network access between Data Gate and IBM Z for configuration information.
- IBM®
z/OS Version 2.4 (5650-ZOS) or higher.
- Service dependencies
- One of the following:
- IBM Db2 Warehouse 11.5.8.0 or higher
- IBM Db2 11.5.8.0 or higher

Multitenancy support
- Multiple instances of the Data Gate service can be installed within a single IBM Cloud Pak for Data deployment.
- Multiple instances of the Data Gate service can be installed on the same cluster (on separate IBM Cloud Pak for Data deployments).
