Administering an external database for OpenPages

If you use a Db2® database that is outside of IBM Cloud Pak for Data, note the following information about administering the database.

Updating the database connection information

If the database connection information changes in the future, update the secrets in the vault. The connection information in the secrets must always match the values for your environment. For example, if the password of the openpage user changes, update the database user secret in the vault.

Backing up and restoring OpenPages

When you back up OpenPages, also perform an offline backup of the database. The application files and the database must be kept in sync. For more information, see Backing up a Db2 database offline and Restoring Db2 from an offline backup.
