Increase the number of free BERTs by using one of the following methods:
  • Increase the number of BERTs for JES2 processing by using the $T CKPTSPACE,BERTNUM=nnn command. If the number of BERTs cannot be increased because of checkpoint space, use one of the following methods:
    • Decrease the number of JOEs ($T OUTDEF,JOENUM=nnnnn) and then try increasing the number of BERTs again.
    • Decrease the number of JQEs ($T JOBDEF,JOBNUM=nnnn) and then try increasing the number of BERTs again.
    • Allocate a new larger checkpoint data set or structure and perform a checkpoint reconfiguration ($T CKPTDEF,RECONFIG=YES) to begin using the new data set or structure. Then try increasing the number of BERTs again.
  • Reduce the number of jobs in the preexecution phase (look at results of $DN,Q=XEQ).
Restart JES2 after the number of free BERTs has been increased. For example, perform a JES2 hot start after a $P JES2,ABEND command.
