You can set up backup for applications from the Applications page.
Before you begin
For backup and restore to work, you must create volume snapshot class.
Note: You can assign only one policy to an application.
Procedure

Go to Applications from the menu.
For applications that
do not have backup policy set, the Backup status columns of these records
show No policy. If a policy is assigned, the name of the policy is displayed.
If more than one backup policy is assigned to the application, the number of policies is
displayed.
- You can assign policies to a single or multiple applications.
- Click ellipsis menu and select Assign backup policy in the
Policies column to assign a backup policy to a single application with no
policy assigned.
- Select checkbox under Name column and click Assign backup
policy to assign a backup policy to multiple applications with no policy assigned.
The Assign backup policy slide out pane gets displayed.
- In the Assign backup policy slide out pane, you can choose either
Backup & Restore or Backup & restore (Legacy)
as a policy provider. If you select Backup & Restore as a policy
provider, you can assign only one policy, if you select Backup & restore
(Legacy) as a service provider you can assign one or more backup policies.
The details of all available backup policies are displayed, such as location, locationtype,
frequency, retention, and time.
- Select Run backup now check box.
- Click Assign to assign a backup policy.
In the
Applications page, you can observe that the Backup
status of the selected application shows as Not backed up for
applications that have not got backed up yet. After the backup set up is done, the Backup
status of the selected application changes to Completed with a
green check mark. Also, the Last backup time shows the backup time.
