Object auto-naming settings

For most object types, you can auto-generate their names when they are created or copied. This ability allows users to enforce internal naming policies and ensure unique object names.

The auto-generation of object names is controlled by a series of settings. You can turn auto-naming on or off for each object type individually. For example, you might want all business entities and processes to be named by users and all risks, controls, and test plans to be named automatically.

Note: Auto-naming is not supported for the following object types: SOXDocument and SOXSignature.

Although auto-naming is not supported for SOXDocument objects, you can control how duplicate file names are handled. For information, see SOXDocument object auto-naming settings for duplicate file names.
