Installation panels for installing or migrating with z/OSMF
If you specify USE Z/OSMF WORKFLOW ===> YES on panel DSNTIPA1, panel DSNTILA1 opens, and the CLIST uses a modified set of installation panels.
Panel DSNTILA1
This panel opens to replace panel DSNTIPA1 when you specify USE Z/OSMF WORKFLOW ===> YES. It is a variant of DSNTIPA1, but you can select certain fields to tailor the values as variables in the z/OSMF input variable files. For more information, see DSNTIPA1 or DSNTILA1: Main panel
When USE Z/OSMF WORKFLOW ===> YES is specified, INSTALL TYPE ===> UPDATE is not supported.
Panels DSNTIPxx
When you run the CLIST to prepare z/OSMF workflow definition files, the CLIST panels are modified so that you can select fields to tailor the values as variables in the z/OSMF input variable file.You can find the variable names for each panel field and subsystem parameter in Directory of subsystem parameters, panel fields, and application default values.
For example, the following figure shows the DSNTIPA2 panel. You can select each of the panel fields except for DEFINE CATALOG, which is not eligible to be selected as an input variable. In this example, the CATALOG ALIAS field is selected as an input variable.

Panel DSNTIPM1
Contains fields for specifying that data sets for the tailored jobs, the workflow definition file, and the input variable file.
DSNTIPM1 MIGRATE DB2 - Z/OSMF ARTIFACTS CONFIGURATION PANEL
===>
z/OSMF artifacts allocated by the installation CLIST for edited output:
1 WORKFLOW DEFINITION LIBRARY ===>
2 JCL TEMPLATE LIBRARY ===>
3 PATH FOR Z/OSMF ARTIFACTS ===>
For migration only: input the information of the prior release:
4 PRIOR RELEASE SDSNLOAD LIBRARY ===>
5 PRIOR RELEASE SDSNEXIT LIBRARY ===>
6 PRIOR RELEASE PARAMETER MODULE ===>
PRESS: ENTER to continue RETURN to exit HELP for more information
- WORKFLOW DEFINITION LIBRARY
- The data set that stores the generated workflow definition files and input variable files.
- JCL TEMPLATE LIBRARY
- The data set that stores the tailored jobs for the z/OSMF workflow.
- PATH FOR Z/OSMF ARTIFACTS
- The name of the HFS or zFS path where CLIST processing places the generated z/OSMF variable file, workflow file, and JCL templates. The default setting of blank indicates that the installation CLIST does not copy generated z/OSMF artifacts into HFS or zFS. When the field is not blank, the entry is validated to ensure that the specified path does not already exist as a file, and the user ID running the CLIST is authorized to create the specified directory and to write content into it.
- PRIOR RELEASE SDSNLOAD LIBRARY
- For migration only, the location of the SDSNLOAD library from the previous Db2 release. The field is blank because the CLIST cannot determine the name of this library. You must specify a value for this field.
- PRIOR RELEASE SDSNEXIT LIBRARY
- For migration of a Db2 subsystem or the
first or subsequent members of a data sharing group, the name of the Db2 SDSNEXIT library from the previous Db2 release. This field cannot be blank. Its initial
value is set as follows:
- The OLDEXIT setting from the current release DSNTIDXA/XB input parameter, if it is not blank.
- Otherwise, the EXIT LIBRARY field on panel DSNTIPT, which is the current release Db2 SDSNEXIT library.
- PRIOR RELEASE PARAMETER MODULE
- For migration of a Db2 subsystem or the
first member of a data sharing group only, the name of the Db2 subsystem parameter module from the previous
Db2 release. This field cannot be blank.
The initial values is set based on the following settings:
- The OLDZPARM setting from the current release DSNTIDXA or DSNTIDXB input parameter, unless it is blank.
- The PARAMETER MODULE field on panel DSNTIPO3, which is the Db2 subsystem parameter module from the current release.
You can modify this field and select this field to tailor its value as a variable in the z/OSMF variable input file.
Panels DSNTIPM3 and DSNTIPM4
Contain fields for the subsystem parameters that do not correspond to fields on any DSNTIPxx panels. For descriptions of the parameters on these panels, see Subsystem parameters that are not on installation panels.
You can select each panel field to specify that the value is tailored as a variable and stored in the z/OSMF input variable file.
Panel DSNTIPM5
Contains parameters to tailor the following installation jobs:
- DSNTIJPM
- DSNTIJSA
- DSNTIJSO
Panels for choosing z/OSMF workflow steps
On the following scenario-specific panels you can choose the steps to include in z/OSMF workflows for completing Db2 13 installation or migration tasks.
Each such panel indicates the required and optional steps, and whether they are selected by default, for example:
sindicates a required step.Sindicates an optional step that is selected by default.- An empty selection field indicates an optional step that is not selected by default.
Panel DSNTIPMS
Panel DSNTIPMS is a scenario-specific panel for choosing steps for migrating a non-data sharing Db2 subsystem or the first member of a data sharing group to Db2 13.
