Status LEDs

The Status LEDs (2 and 3 in Figure 1) provide information about the state of the drive. The Ready status LED is green and the Fault status LED is amber, and (when lit) solid or flashing.

Table 2 lists the conditions of the Status LEDs and Single-character Display (SCD) and provides an explanation of what each condition means.

Off Off Off Off The 7226 drive feature drive has no power or is powered off. The eServer drive will be in this state when powered up and ready with no tape loaded.
Green/ Solid Off Off Off The 7226 drive feature and eServer drives are powered on and in an idle state. The 7226 drive feature drive will be in this state when powered on even if no tape is loaded. For the eServer drive, this state also means a tape is loaded
Off Amber/ Solid or Flashing Displaying an error code or Maintenance Mode Function On/Off The drive is displaying error code(s) from the error code log on the SCD.

Off/On The Ready Status LED is Flashing while in maintenance mode for both the 7226 drive feature and eServer drives. When exiting, the Ready Status LED is Off on the 7226 drive feature, but is still Flashing on the eServer.

Amber/ Solid Flashing selected function Off/On The 7226 drive feature drive is executing the selected function while in maintenance mode. The Ready Status LED on the eServer drive will be Flashing while executing the selected function.

Displaying error code Off An error occurred and the drive or media may require service, or it may require cleaning. Note the code on the SCD, then go to Error Codes and Messages to determine the action that is required.
