Using the Events pod

Use this page for a description of the states of the Events pod.

The Events pod allows you to be almost instantly alerted when an event happens. It is the second pod that is always visible at the bottom of the page.

The Events pod has a collapsed state and an expanded state. When the Events pod is in the collapsed state, there is a number displayed which is the number of active events. The health status of the most severe event is indicated by a status sign affixed to the pod. The Legend below explains the meaning of each status sign.

Legend
Events can be operator interventions or information about the system. The following terms describe the possible health status of the most severe event:
OK
The status is normal. This status sign is a green square containing a white check mark.
Degraded
The status is working, but one of the parts has stopped functioning. This status sign is a yellow triangle containing a brown exclamation point (!).
Failed

Offline
The status is offline. This status sign is a gray square.

Click the collapsed Events pod from any page in the Web interface to expand the Events pod. In the expanded state, the events are shown in reverse chronological order. If more events are active than can be visible on the page, the pod has a scroll bar. An example of a message for an active event is displayed below. Click in the body of the expanded Events pod to redirect you to the Events page.
