Procedure

Log on as Collector Server
administrator on the system where you want to install the base package.

Insert and mount the product DVD and then change to the AIX,
Linux, or Solaris directory on the DVD. The directory
depends on the operating system where you want to install the base package. Alternatively, you can
download and extract the base package to a directory of your choice.
Important: 
For the extraction, use
GNU tar instead of
tar to
avoid the creation of a
@LongLink file during the extraction.
- On a command line, enter the following command to install IBM Installation Manager and the base package:
- Complete these steps in IBM Installation Manager:

this path.
Click Next.
Notes:
- An installation path can contain ASCII characters only. Other characters, such as
native-language characters, are not supported.
- An installation path must not contain any blanks. In addition, it must not exist.

Specify your license type. Then, click Next. |

You can verify your specifications.
Then, click Install. |
- After the installation, verify that the installation
was successful. Then, click Finish.
If
an error occurs, view the log file.
Results
IBM Installation Manager and
all components of Content Collector for SAP are
installed.
