Additional properties

The additional properties section of the details tab lists the names and values of all properties that have been added to the entity, that are not included explicitly in the main properties section.

These consist of custom properties and, in the case of an entity created from a business model template, optional properties specified in the business model template definition.

To modify the additional properties, click Edit Properties. You can then add or delete a property, or change the value of an existing property, as described in the remainder of this topic.

To add a new property, perform the following actions:
  1. Click Add Property.
  2. Specify the name of the custom property; if this is an entity created from a business model template, you can choose to add either a custom property or an optional property. If you add an optional property, select the required property name from the list. The specified property is added to the additional properties.
  3. Specify the value of the property in the field that follows the property name.

To delete an existing property, click the Delete icon (Delete icon (red cross inside a black square)) alongside the property name.

To change the value of an existing property, specify the new value in the field below the property name.

To save all your property changes, click OK.

The way in which you specify a property value depends on the value type, as follows:
String
Type the value in the input field.
Number
Type the value in the input field. The format and allowable range depend on the number type. The following number types are possible:
  • Short integer
  • Integer
  • Long integer
  • Double
  • Float
If you enter an incorrect format, or an out of range value, a warning message is displayed.
If the field is empty, and you place the cursor in the field, a message is displayed indicating the required number type.
Boolean
Select the check box if the value is true.
Date
Click the calendar icon to display the date selection control, scroll to the year and month, click the required date, and click OK.
By default, today's date is selected.
Time
Click the clock icon, specify the required values in the Hour, Minute, and Second fields, and click OK.
By default, the current time is specified.
Date and time
Click the calendar and clock icon, and perform the following actions:
  1. Scroll to the year and month, and click the required date.
  2. Specify the required values in the Hour, Minute, and Second fields.
  3. Click OK.
By default, the current date and time is specified.
Enumeration list
Any of the value types can occur as an enumeration list. In this case, an arrow is displayed alongside the field; click the arrow and select the required value from the list.

The web UI validates property values as you type them. If you make an incorrect entry (for example, type a letter character in a numeric field), a warning icon (Warning icon (exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle)) is displayed, together with an explanation.
