RFP

An RFx, in which buyer users can create questionnaires to obtain information from suppliers as well as define items for bidding is known as Request for Proposal (RFP).

An RFP (Request For Proposal) is a type of RFx that combines the features of an RFQ and an RFI.

Suppliers can place their bids on items. Buyers can analyze the responses and quotes received, and allocate the RFP to one or more suppliers.

Types of RFPs

The following table displays the types of RFPs available within the application.
Table 1. RFP Types
RFP Type Description
Unlocked RFPs Buyers can view responses to questionnaires and bids as soon as they are submitted by the suppliers, even before the RFP is closed.
Locked RFPs Buyers can view responses to questionnaires and bids only after the RFP is closed.
Two envelope (If enabled) In two-envelope RFPs the lead buyer must manually unlock the RFP in the following phases:
  • In the first phase, the lead buyer for the RFP must open the technical (Questionnaire) part of the RFP. Buyer users cannot view the bids placed by suppliers at this stage but can view the answers to the questionnaires.
  • In the second phase, after the answers to the questionnaires are reviewed, the lead buyer for the RFP must manually open the bids.
One envelope (If enabled) In one envelope RFPs, after an RFP is closed, the lead buyer must manually unlock the RFP for buyers to view the responses and bids placed by the suppliers.
