Active Contracts and Amendments

Active contracts

An executed contract becomes active in the following cases:

• When a contract is executed before the effective start date, the contract is put in a queue to become Active. According to the host time zone, when the effective date is reached, and the contract activation batch process is run, the contract becomes Active immediately.
• When a contract is executed after the effective start date, the contract becomes Active immediately.

You can modify the effective start date of a contract before activation from the contract Header.

Activation process for filed amendments

The activation process for authored and filed amendments is the same except that no language is attached to the base contract of a filed amendment.

The names of the filed amendments that have been activated against a base contract are listed in the Word layout of the amended contract, if the base contract is an authored or received contract.

You can view the filed amendment from the Language tab of the amended contract by clicking the Activated Amendment button on the Contract Editor toolbar. If the base contract is an authored or received contract, the Activated Amendments window lists all the filed amendments that are activated against the base contract. When you click any of the listed filed amendments in the Activated Filed Amendments dialog, the language attachment from the filed amendment opens.

Contract language for amendments

You can view the filed amendment of a contract from the Language tab of the amended contract by clicking the Activated Amendment button on the Contract Editor toolbar. The Activated Amendments window lists all the filed amendments activated against the base contract, if the base contract is an authored or received contract.

If a filed contract has an authored or received amendment, you can view the language of the amendment from the base contract by clicking the Activated Amendment button on the Contract Editor toolbar.

Frozen properties

The properties that are frozen in an executed contract are also frozen in an active contract or amendment. The effective start date is also frozen after the contract is Active.
