Preparing to install FileNet Content Manager

Before you deploy your application containers, you must prepare your environment. These preparation items include creating users and groups via IAM or designating LDAP users and groups, preparing databases for the application data and managed content, and configuring storage for the applications.

About this task

As part of the deployment process, you supply numerous values for the required configuration parameters that define your environment. These prerequisite steps provide details that help you collect your input for configuration and deployment.

The following diagram highlights the options that you have when you select to install the content pattern. You must select one or more components, and you must then make sure that you prepare everything that is needed by these components before you apply your custom resource.

What to do next

The next task to complete depends on the capabilities that you selected for your deployment. You must prepare all of these capabilities and any dependencies. Jump to the capability in the table of contents or from the parent topic.

After you complete all of the preparation steps for all of the capabilities that you want to install, go ahead and create a production deployment. For more information, see Creating a production deployment.
