Classifying objects by using the dashboard

You can classify an object directly from the dashboard.

About this task

Classify an object to help organize your registry. You are effectively grouping together a number of objects that share the same classification. You can then use the classifications to filter or search for objects, and to decide what actions are appropriate for that object.

The classifications that are available for particular types of object controlled by how the Detail widget in the dashboard is configured. Available classifications might appear among the object properties, or in a dedicated classification section.

See the related link for information on configuring how classifications are handled in the dashboard.
