Managing themes

You mange themes by using the WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository user interface (UI). The user theme and logon theme views are accessed in the Configuration perspective from the Active Profile item on the menu bar.

Loading a theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective if necessary, by selecting Configuration in the Perspective list.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes.
  • Click User Themes or Logon Themes.
  • Click Load. The preparing to load the configuration item page is displayed.
  • Click the Local file system or Remote file location radio button.
  • Enter a path name for the local file system or click Browse to navigate to your theme file, and click Open.
  • Provide the UI Theme configuration item name, using letters and number only, and click OK. Your new theme is displayed in the list of themes.

Replacing a theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective if necessary.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes.
  • Click User Themes or Logon Themes.
  • Click Replace. The Preparing to Replace the Configuration item page is displayed.
  • Click the Local file system or Remote file location radio button.
  • Enter a path name for the local file system or click Browse to navigate to your theme file, and click Open.
  • Click OK. Your theme is displayed in the list of themes.

Deleting a theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes.
  • Click User Themes or Logon Themes.
  • Select the themes you want to delete.
  • Click Delete.

Exporting a theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes.
  • Click User Themes or Logon Themes.
  • Select the theme you want to export and click Export.
  • Save the .zip file to your local file system.

Setting the logon theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes > Logon Themes.
  • Select the theme that you want to set as the logon theme and click Set Logon Theme. This theme is now the default logon theme for all users.
Note: You will be unable to log into WSRR if you set the logon theme to be a theme with broken or invalid JSP files. To reset the logon theme, and the default theme, go to the following URL:
https://<server>:<port>/ServiceRegistry/resetThemes.jsp

Setting the default user theme

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes > User Themes.
  • Select the theme you want to set as the default user theme and click Set as Default. This theme is used by users who have not set a choice of theme.
Note: You will experience problems if you set the default theme to be a theme with broken or invalid JSP files. To reset the default theme, and the logon theme, go to the following URL:
https://<server>:<port>/ServiceRegistry/resetThemes.jsp

Making themes available to users

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes > User Themes.
  • Select the themes you want to make available and click Make Available. The selected themes are now available for users to select.
When a theme is available, users can select their preferred theme. You make this selection from the User or Administrator perspectives, by clicking My Service Registry > My Preferences and selecting the preferred theme from the list.

Making themes unavailable to users

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the Configuration perspective.
  • Click Active Profile > Web UI Configuration > Themes > User Themes.
  • Select your new theme and click Make Unavailable. The selected themes are now unavailable to users.
Users who have selected a theme that is no longer available use the default theme. Users can select a different theme by clicking My Service Registry > My Preferences and selecting their preferred theme from the list of available themes.

Setting theme preference

In the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository UI, switch to the General User or Administrator perspective.
  • Click My Service Registry > My Preferences.
  • Select a Preferred Theme from the list and click Apply.
If no theme preference is set you automatically use the default theme. If you have previously set a theme preference and the theme becomes unavailable, you will automatically use the default theme. If you are using the default theme, and it becomes unavailable, you will automatically use the standard theme.
