Managing Ontology

With Content Analyzer's ontology management UI, you can manage your ontology to add or edit key classes.

About this task

Log in to Content Analyzer and click the Ontology icon on the navigation bar to access the Ontology Management Tool. You are taken through the UI and instructed on what you can manage.

Procedure

  1. Select a document class or click Add Document Class to add a document class.
You can also Import Ontology or Export Ontology.
  2. To add a Key Class, select Key and click Add Key Class.

At Start, enter the Key Name and object Type.

  3. In the Key Context, click Add New to add a Key Alias. Select the Type as a key alias or pattern.

The Key Class name that is entered at Start becomes the Content name here. Also, the Type field defaults to Key Alias.

  4. The extractor extracts a value that identifies the key class of a key-value pair. In Extractors, select an extractor that is already defined or create a new extractor.
    Create an extractor.
    • For a specific key, select Value Pattern, or if the value that you want to extract does not have a key in the document, select Value Pattern with optional key alias.
    • Enter the extractor Name and its Pattern. The Type is always Pattern.
  5. Validators are used to validate a value. In Validators, select a validator that is already defined or create a new validator.
    To create a new validator.
    • If the validator Type is Pattern, enter the Name and its Pattern.
    • If the validator Type is Dictionary, enter the dictionary Name.

You can create more Pattern types or Dictionary types. You cannot create a combination of both.

  6. In Summary, you can review your inputs and click Finish.

For more modifications, you can go directly to the process you want, like Validators, Extractors, or Key Context.
