Setting the default work area path

The work area is a location in the file system that contains your copies of projects. You can change the default work area path. For example, if you work in more than one database, include the database name in the default work area path to sort work areas by database.

Procedure

  1. Start the Options dialog box by clicking Tools in the main menu and choosing Options.
  2. Click the Actions tab, then click Copy Project in the left pane. If you clicked Change Default Path in the Properties dialog box, the Options dialog box is displayed with the Actions tab, Copy Project option in view.
  3. Set the default path.
    1. Change the base directory. You can change the base directory to the path you want. As you change the base directory, it is displayed in the Example path using above settings box.
    2. Indicate whether you want the name of the database in the work area path. The database name is useful if you work in more than one database.
  4. To return to the default settings, click Use Defaults.
  5. Click Apply.
