Configuring a smart host
Use a smart host when you want to migrate small groups of users to SmartCloud Notes® mail, rather than migrating all users at once. You can continue to route mail to your existing mail system while the user migration is taking place. During this time, some mailboxes can be in SmartCloud Notes and some in your existing mail system.
About this task
Each SMTP smart host you configure must be a for validated Internet domain.
Procedure
- Log on to the service as an administrator.
- If your account also has the User role, click .
- In the System Settings section of the navigation pane, click IBM SmartCloud Notes.
- Click Account Settings and then click Internet Domains.
- Click the name of an Internet domain that you want to use as a smart host. The selected name appears in the Internet domain name field, and the Smart Host section displays.
- In the Smart Host field, enter the SMTP host name or IP address for the selected Internet domain.
- Select Enforce TLS if the SMTP host server uses opportunistic Transport Layer Security, and it is required in your environment.
- Click Test to verify that the service can establish an SMTP connection to the SMTP smart host you have specified.
- Click Save.
