Operation Center Support in the PowerHA SystemMirror GUI

Use this information to learn about Operation Center Support (OCS) in the PowerHA® SystemMirror® GUI.

To configure OCS, you must complete the following prerequisites:
  • A non-root user must be defined in the PowerHA SystemMirror GUI.
  • A PowerHA SystemMirror GUI administrator must assign the ha_oc role to the OCS user.
The OCS feature in the PowerHA SystemMirror GUI has the following limitations:
  • The maximum size of each uploaded visual or audio file is 5 MB.
  • You cannot assign separate alert sounds for each cluster if you are working with multiple clusters.
  • Visual alerts do not support visual patterns and are color-based only.

Users can be assigned the ha_oc role so that they can become an OCS user. These users can monitor operations, but cannot make any changes to the clusters they are monitoring. The user has access to the Settings button that allows user to configure the visual and audio alerts. OCS user can upload custom audio files and can select default sounds that are available for configuring the audio alerts. Only .mp3 and .wav files are supported for custom audio alerts. Users can select different colors for configuring the visual alerts. The default color is red. The audio and visual alerts can be paused and canceled. When an alert is paused, after 5 minutes the alert is activated again if any cluster is still in a critical state.

The session for a user with the ha_oc role does not expire when the inactivity time limit is exceeded. The user can turn off the visual and audio alerts by using the Settings button.
