Adding a Cloud instance to use IBM Power Systems Virtual Servers for ROHA
You can use SMIT interface to add a Cloud instance for Power® Systems Virtual Servers for Resource Optimized High Availability (ROHA).
About this task
To add a Cloud instance, complete the following steps:
Procedure
- From the command line, enter
smit sysmirror - From the SMIT interface, select Cluster Applications and Resources > Resources > Configure User Applications (Scripts and Monitors) > Resource Optimized High Availability > Cloud Configuration > Add Cloud Instance, and press Enter.
-
Complete the following fields, and press Enter.
- Cloud Site
- This field is auto-selected based on the cluster-type in PowerHA® SystemMirror®. For the standard cluster type, you must specify value in the Cluster Name field. For the linked cluster-type, select the specific site name from the SMIT selection screen.
- Cloud Type
- From the SMIT selection screen, choose the Cloud type that you want to associate with the Power Systems Virtual Servers nodes that are located under a PowerHA cluster or a PowerHA site. The default Cloud type is IBM® Cloud.
- Cloud Authentication Key
- Enter the authentication key for the Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) user. For IBM Cloud, enter the application programming interface (API) key of the cloud account where the Cloud instance is defined. The API key is used to extract the IAM token for starting the Representational State Transfer (REST) API calls provided by IBM cloud. The API key is encrypted and stored in the PowerHA database.
- Cloud Site Identifier
- Enter the cloud service identifier of a region or a zone in which Power Systems Virtual Servers instance is defined. For IBM Cloud, specify the Cloud Resource Name (CRN) that you received from the Cloud service. For more information about CRN, see IBM® documentation.
- Cloud operations timeout (in minutes)
- Enter a timeout period in minutes for the Cloud ROHA commands that ran on the Cloud node of Power Systems Virtual Servers during cloud operations such as resource acquire or resource release. If you do no set the timeout value, a default timeout value of 5 minutes is used.
Note: After completion, Cloud configuration is set on to all Cloud nodes of Power Systems Virtual Servers in a PowerHA site or a PowerHA cluster. The Cloud instance IDs of Power Systems Virtual Servers are collected dynamically based on the specified fields and are stored in the PowerHA database.
