Configuring the object indexing process for Content Search Services
The process of indexing object text begins with the submission of an index request and ends with a change to index information for the object: the index entry for the object is created or updated. Reindexing an object potentially involves the deletion of the index entry for the object if the object no longer belongs to a CBR-enabled class.
Indexing the text for an object occurs in the preparation and pipeline phase.
In the preparation phase, you must ensure that your system is properly set up and ready for indexing. Preparation phase includes installing and configuring the necessary software, and preparing the data for indexing. You must define the index schema and customize the search environment.
In the pipeline phase, you can perform the indexing process. This involves creating and executing pipelines, which are workflows that automate the indexing process. You must configure the operation of a Content Search Services index server to optimize indexing performance or control system resources.
In terms of combining these phases, ensure that the preparation phase is complete before moving on to the pipeline phase. This means that your system and data are properly set up and ready for indexing. Once the preparation phase is complete, you can create and execute pipelines to index your data. By following these phases and procedures, you can effectively configure Object Indexing in FileNet® P8 and ensure that your system is optimized for efficient and accurate search functions.
