Enabling dynamic summary and hit highlighting

You can configure dynamic summary and hit highlighting for your object store when CBR is enabled.

About this task

Note: Configuring dynamic summary for your object store can cause slower performance for indexing and searching. A full-text index with dynamic summary holds fewer documents compared to same size full-text index with static or no summary.

Procedure

To configure dynamic summary and hit highlighting:

  1. In the ACCE console, expand the object store, which is CBR enabled.
    1. Select the Properties tab and scroll down the list of properties until you find the CBR Summary properties of the object store.
    2. Set CBR Summary Type as Dynamic.
    3. Set CBR Summary Indexing Size to 1024.
    4. Set CBR Results Size to 1024. Click Save.
    Important:
    1. You can set the value for 'CBR Summary Indexing Size' to higher than 1024. But the value for 'CBR Results Size' is maximum 1024.
    2. The feature works only if the word or term that you search for exists in the first 1024 kb of the document.
  2. In the ACCE console, reindex all the content for the object store.
Alternatively, you can also add test content and check what you configured now works. For more information, see topic Reindexing a full-text index.
  3. In IBM® Content Navigator, enable content summaries in the Results Display settings of an IBM Content Navigator search.
    1. Open IBM Content Navigator > New Search > Search.
    2. Click Results Display and check Enable Content Summaries (Text Search only).
