Assigning the lifecycle policy to a document class

About this task

You can assign a lifecycle policy to a document class to define states that apply to documents of the class.

You can override the default lifecycle policy when you add a document. You can also remove the default lifecycle policy from a new document by selecting <none> as the lifecycle policy.

To assign a document lifecycle policy to a document class:

1. Access the properties for the document class in the administration console.
   1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store. You must have object store administrative rights.
   2. In the object store navigation pane, click Data Design > Classes > Document and select the document class.
   3. In the details pane, click the General tab.
2. Click the Default document lifecycle policy list and select the lifecycle policy with the lifecycle action that you want.
