Backing up and restoring Db2 Warehouse

You can use the db2 backup and db2 restore commands to back up and restore your integrated Db2 Warehouse instance.

Important notes:

  • IBM recommends that you run full backups of your entire database on a regular basis.
  • Do not stop the container while a backup or a restore operation is in progress.
  • Use the db2 backup and db2 restore commands to run full online backup and restore operations on a Db2 Warehouse database.
  • If you have a Q Replication deployment, perform a SSL certificate exchange after you backup and restore. For more information, see Performing an SSL certificate exchange for replication.

Restrictions:

  • Only rollforward to end of backup is supported. Rollforward to a generic point in time (a point in time after the backup was taken) or end-of-logs is not supported.
  • Table space level backup and restore is not supported.
