Obtaining your IBM entitlement API key for IBM Software Hub

All IBM Software Hub images are accessible from the IBM Entitled Registry. The IBM entitlement API key enables you to pull software images from the IBM Entitled Registry, either for installation or for mirroring to a private container registry.

Who needs to complete this task?

Operations team The IBM Software Hub operations team or the cluster administrator must obtain the API entitlement key.

When do you need to complete this task?

One-time setup If you don't have your IBM entitlement API key, you must complete this task before you can install IBM Software Hub.

If you already have your IBM entitlement API key, you can skip this task.

Procedure

To obtain your IBM entitlement API key:

  1. Log in to Container software library on My IBM with the IBMid and password that are associated with the entitled software.
  2. On the Entitlement keys tab, select Copy to copy the entitlement key to the clipboard.
  3. Save the API key in a text file.
