New applications

IBM® Cognos® Analytics integration
Maximo Manage 8.6 includes integration with Cognos Analytics to provide Business Intelligence tools. For more information, see Integrating with Cognos Analytics server.

Operational dashboard enhancements

KPIs
You can now track overdue preventive maintenance and emergency work, the rate of closure of preventive maintenance work orders, and the number of work orders that are awaiting approval. You can also see trend information for each KPI and whether your organization is over or under your target.
Favorites and Quick actions
You can now use the Favorites card to quickly access other applications. You can also use the Quick actions card to create a work order, service request, job plan, and more.
Workflow assignment actions
You can now accept, reject, route, and reassign workflow assignments on the Workflow assignments due soon card on the Operational dashboard.

Work Orders application enhancements

Rich text support
You can now add images, links, and text formatting to the long description of each work order.

Scheduling dashboard enhancements

Resource leveling tab
Use the Resource leveling tab to view resource allocation and planned work by craft. For more information, see Viewing resource leveling on the Scheduling dashboard.
Optimization report
Use the optimization report to view optimization progress and to see details of the last run optimization. For more information, see Monitoring optimization progress on the Scheduling dashboard.
Calendar and shift breaks
New shift break options are available in the Calendars application that update labor and crew availability to more accurately reflect calendar and shift information. For more information, see Specifying shift breaks in calendars.

IBM Maximo Optimizer updates

Scheduling enhancements
Optimization rules were updated to support high priority work, work records locked by date or time, and modified availability from shift breaks. New constraints were added to support custom fields in the Graphical Scheduling and Graphical Scheduling-Large Projects applications.
Dispatching enhancements
New optimization rules were introduced for the Graphical Assignment application, including the support of global routing breaks, assigning related work records to the same technician, and allowing for uninterruptible tasks to be scheduled across shift breaks.

Technical updates

New interface for Java™ or automation scripts
Maximo Manage now has an interface that you can implement with Java™ or automation scripts. This interface accesses the store and reads, writes, or deletes documents from the store. For more information, see Creating scripts to manage attachments.
Advanced search added to the Work Orders and Workflow Assignments applications
You can now click the Filter icon to see additional search fields including target start, target finish, priority, job plan, and more.
