Permit scope locks
When you associate a permit with a job plan or a clearance, the scope of the permit can automatically lock, depending on certain settings.
While the lock is active, it is not possible to modify scope-related information in the permit record. To modify scope-related information, you must temporarily unlock the permit scope.
If the permit scope lock setting is active at organization level, the scope of a permit automatically locks when you apply an active job plan. While the lock is active, the following restrictions apply:
- You cannot modify the following scope-related fields: Permit Description, Location, Asset, Task, Sequence, and Task Description.
- You cannot add tasks to or remove tasks from the permit plan.
- You cannot modify permit classification details.
- You cannot add new attributes to the permit specification.
If you add a permit to a clearance that is not in Draft status, the scope of the permit automatically locks. While the lock is active, the following restrictions apply:
- You cannot modify the following scope-related fields: Permit Description, Location, Asset, Task, and Task Description.
To remove the restrictions in either case, you must temporarily unlock the scope by using the Scope Unlock action in the permit record. The lock is automatically reactivated the next time you save the permit record.
