Tag sharing
When the same boundary component is defined on multiple clearances, you have the option of sharing tags between clearances. Sharing tags helps you to ensure proper coordination of component configurations for the different jobs that are planned or in progress.
You can share tags that are defined on working or admin clearances. Tags that are defined on a template clearance cannot be shared.
In a working or admin clearance, you can check other clearances for shareable tags by selecting from the More Actions menu. This action is available for clearances, including clearance revisions, that have a status of Draft or Waiting for Approval. You can also configure the Shift Supervisor approval action for clearance application and revision to include manual or automatic tag sharing.
You can replace a tag on a new clearance or on a clearance revision with a shared tag when both tags meet the following conditions:
- The tags refer to the same component and specify the same application position. Tags that specify the value for no position control can be matched only with each other.
- The tags have the same tag type.
- The tags have a status of Draft or Applied.
The Shared Tag check box on the Application and Restoration tabs in a clearance record indicates whether a tag is shared.
The following rules apply to the management of shared tags during clearance restoration:
- A shared tag can be restored only by the last clearance in the share. The last clearance is the one that remains in a status of Draft, Waiting for Approval, Approved, Ready, or Active when all other clearances in the share have a status of Approved for Release or later. Effectively, the last clearance is the only one in which the shared tag is part of the current clearance boundary.
- The restoration position of the shared tag can be specified only in the last clearance.
- When all other tags have been restored, and while restoration of the shared tag is pending, the status of other clearances in the share is changed to Waiting for Shared Tags (WSHARE). When the shared tag is restored on the last clearance, the status of the other clearances is automatically changed to Completed.
You can remove a shared tag from a clearance that has a status of Draft by selecting from the More Actions menu. The shared tag is replaced by the tag that was originally specified on the clearance before tag sharing took place.
Configurable options for tag sharing
In the Organizations (Nuc) application, the following tag sharing options are available:
- Automatically share tags during Shift Supervisor approval
- Shareable tags that have a status of Applied are automatically added to the clearance when an Shift Supervisor approves clearance application or revision. As a result of Shift Supervisor approval, shareable tags replace tags that were previously specified for the relevant clearance components, and the status of the clearance is changed to Approved.
- Manually share tags during Shift Supervisor approval
- Shareable tags that have a status of Draft or Applied are proposed and manually selected during the process of Shift Supervisor application or revision approval. As a result of Shift Supervisor approval, the selected shareable tags replace tags that were previously specified for the relevant clearance components, and the status of the clearance is changed to Approved.
- Share tags on demand
- The tag share function is available only when users select Share Tags from the More Actions menu in the Clearances (Nuc) application.
You can define different tag sharing settings for different sites.
