Installing and configuring the Chat Rooms widget
Install and configure the Chat Rooms widget. The Chat Rooms widget provides IBM® Sametime® Advanced persistent chat room features within IBM Connections.
- Preparing to install the Chat Rooms widget
The Chat Rooms widget provides a direct link from an IBM Connections Community to Sametime Advanced chat rooms. In a chat room, users can participate in a live conversation with other users. The chat room conversation is persisted, and can be viewed or revived at a later time. The Chat Rooms widget provides a list of chat rooms which have been created for a specific Community. Clicking a chat room link redirects a user to that chat room on the Sametime Advanced web user interface. Chat rooms can be created using the widget, which is directly associated with the Community. - Enabling communication between Sametime Advanced and Connections
The IBM Sametime Advanced API requires authentication before releasing data, therefore, you must enable single sign-on between Connections and the Sametime Advanced Server. - Installing the Chat Rooms widget
Users of IBM Connections can utilize the Chat Rooms widget to create chat rooms. - Installing the Membership Synchronizer in WebSphere for use with Chat Rooms widget
To allow Community members to access the Community's chat rooms, a separate module must synchronize the membership. Install this module, ChatRoomsMembershipSynchroniser.jar, on the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console.
