Creating a distribution list
About this task
To create a distribution list:
Procedure
- From the Output Manager main menu, choose option A, Administrative Functions, and press Enter.
- From the Administrative Functions menu, choose option D, Distribution Lists, and press Enter.

Specify search criteria, or leave the fields blank, and press Enter.
The resulting list is filtered by your search criteria.
- Type ADD on the command line and press Enter.
- In the Dist. List Name field, type a descriptive name for the new distribution list. This name can be up to 60 characters long.

To add recipient IDs, RACF® groups, or a nested distribution list to this distribution list, type
ADDon the command line and press Enter.The Search for Recipient IDs/Distribution lists pop-up panel is displayed. - Specify search criteria, or leave the fields blank, and press Enter.

To add recipients to the new distribution list, type
S(Select) in the CMD column, next to the recipient or distribution list name, and press Enter.If no recipient IDs have been defined on your Output Manager system, a pop-up message window is displayed that says no recipients have been found. Press Enter to continue.
Tip: If you want to view or edit a recipient ID before adding it to the distribution list, use the V (View) or E (Edit) line commands. -
Press F3 (Exit).
The Distribution List panel is displayed. It lists all of the recipients that you added to the distribution list.

Optionally, you can specify any of the following information:
- If you want to link the distribution list to a set of printer attributes, choose option 1, Choose a printer attribute, from the Link menu. For more information, see Linking a distribution list to printer attributes. Output Manager can obtain "dynamic printing parameters" from this set of printer attributes if the Dynamic Print field is set to Report in a report definition that is linked to this distribution list.
- If you want a recipient to be distributed the report via email, or if you want to set the hardcopy value, issue the
C(Configure print and email) line command for the recipient and then specify email distribution options for the recipient. For more information, see and Setting Class, Copies, Dest, and PRSET for a recipient on a distribution list.
- When you are finished, press F3 (Exit). An exit confirmation pop-up window is displayed.
- Press Enter to save the distribution list.
