Plan for Watson Studio Local
Before you install Watson Studio Local, you must set up the hardware and software for its private cloud architecture.

Set up repositories for installing Watson Studio Local
To install packages on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, you must have either an offline repository/Active Repository (RHEL Subscription or Internal Repository). Otherwise, Watson Studio Local might fail while it is installing packages.
Install Watson Studio Local by web browser UI
You can install Watson Studio Local by web browser UI by running the installation without any configuration file present.
Install Watson Studio Local by command line and configuration file
As an alternative to the web browser UI installation, you can automate the Watson Studio Local installation by creating a configuration file named wdp.conf that will complete all of the parameters. The file must be in the same directory as the installation package before you run the installation, and the installation package must be in the installer files partition.
Set up Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) to work with Watson Studio Local
Watson Studio Local allows users to securely access the data residing on a HDP cluster and submit jobs to use the compute resources on the HDP cluster. Watson Studio Local interacts with a HDP cluster through four services: WebHDFS, WebHCAT, Livy for Spark and Livy for Spark2. WebHDFS is used to browse and preview HDFS data. WebHCAT is used to browse and preview Hive tables. Livy for Spark and Livy for Spark2 are used to submit jobs to Spark or Spark2 engines on the Hadoop cluster.
Set up Cloudera Distribution for Hadoop (CDH) to work with Watson Studio Local

Upgrade to Watson Studio Local
You can upgrade your Data Science Experience Local cluster from Version 1.2.x to Watson Studio Local Version 1.2.2.
Uninstall Watson Studio Local
Use the uninstall.sh script to uninstall Watson Studio Local.
Deploy Watson Studio Local into IBM Cloud Private
You can deploy Watson Studio Local into IBM Cloud Private, IBM's new Kubernetes-based private cloud, by using the IBM Cloud Private CLI.
