This release of IBM Aspera Shares 1.9.15 provides the new features, fixes, and other changes listed below.

NEW FEATURES

You can encrypt database passwords with the aspera:encrypt_database_password rake task. To decrypt passwords, you can use the aspera:decrypt_database_passwords rake task. (AS-88)

Shares displays the current patch level in the footer. (AS-411)

You can allow websites fronting Shares to handle authentication for Shares. (AS-247 CIM-1784)

Upgraded Nginx to 1.18.0. (AS-429 CIM-3352)

Updated jQuery to version 3.5.0. (AS-439)

Upgraded OpenSSL to version 1.1.1. (AS-457)

AS-468 - Upgraded ruby-saml gem to version 1.11.0.

Shares now supports RHEL 8 and Centos 8. (AS-465)

Added HTTP headers to responses. (AS-463)

Implemented security hardening measures. (AS-359)

ISSUES FIXED IN THIS RELEASE

AS-436 - Clicking the Load more button on long lists paginates the list instead of loading more rows on the page.

AS-415 - The sample file for signed SAML requests is incorrect. (CIM-2930)

AS-409 - [Windows] The health check URL does not work. (CIM-3050)

AS-397 - Users with only upload permissions to a share cannot upload. (CIM-2940)

AS-142 - SAML users are redirected to the local login when trying re-log in.

AS-132 - Download and rename button do not work when selecting a single file.

AS-458 - Shares breaks if the application timezone is set (not through the UI) to an invalid value.

AS-421 - By default, users should inherit all permissions to nested shares from parent shares

AS-390 - Shares no longer sends email notifications after upgrading from Shares 1.9.12.

DOCUMENTATION UPDATES

Documented the need to escape special characters when setting the Node API user password. (AS-455)

Added note to upgrade instructions to rename SAML groups with special characters in the ID and name if upgrading from Shares 1.9.12 and before. (AS-417)

Added distinguished name and domain username examples to clarify how to use a directory service with Shares. (AS-467)

KNOWN ISSUES

AS-478 - When modifying an email template in plain text and HTML mode, users cannot use the interface to add template substitution variables.

AS-477 - When a user tries to rename a folder to the name of an existing folder, Shares may overwrite the existing folder instead of preventing the user from performing the action.

AS-476 - Users are shown "The requested page is not found" after successfully deleting a file or folder from a node or shares.

AS-475 - [Windows] Email notifications use 127.0.0.1 as the server IP address instead of the client's IP address.
