Analyzing events in IBM Spectrum Fusion HCI

The Events page provides you with the necessary features to view event records (both graphical and table view), filter them based on severity and category, and view the status of support tickets.

Note: The IBM Spectrum Scale controller instance name and the isf_node label (as seen in CNI) can exceed 63 characters, which are the Source column value in the Events dashboard. Due to the Red Hat® OpenShift® limitation for labels, an error occurs when it is processed and displayed. When this error takes place for events processing, IBM Spectrum Fusion truncates the name to 60 characters to display on the dashboard and in Events or Call Home data. Events bar chart

The Events chart shows the number of events for each category along with their severity. Click Hide Events Chart to hide the events chart from your view. You can toggle between view and hide modes.

Events list

Events are listed as table rows with Severity, Category, Source, Description, Support Ticket, and Last Time Stamp columns. By default, all unfixed critical and warning events are displayed in the list. The information and fixed events are hidden. The Support Ticket column status can be Call Home disabled, Pending, or Failed. You can sort the columns Severity, Category, Support ticket, and Last Time Stamp.

From the Critical, Warninglist, you can filter records based on the severity, namely Critical, Warning, Informational, and Fixed events. From the Category list, you can filter records based on the categories as follows:
  • All Categories
  • System
  • Backup and Restore
  • Compute
  • Network
  • Administration
  • Storage
  • Upgrade
The events exist in the system for the following time duration:
  • Information events last for 3 to 4 hours
  • Warning events lasts for 7 days
  • Critical events last for 14 days
Click the ellipsis icon of a record to open the actions menu for an event:
Copy support ticket ID
If a support ticket was opened for an event, this action copies the ID from IBM Support website.
Mark as Fixed
If an event is fixable, you can mark the event as fixed.
