Monitoring virtual machine instances

Use reports and charting to monitor the status and performance of your deployed virtual system instances and machines.

Before you begin

Your virtual system pattern must be deployed and all of your virtual machines started before you can monitor results.

The user who deployed the pattern, along with those with access or the administrator, can see the monitoring information for the deployment.

About this task

You can monitor the following statistics for your deployed virtual machines.
  • Memory
  • Network
  • Processor
  • Storage
Note: You cannot monitor a virtual machine that has failed. If a virtual machine has failed, monitoring is disabled.

Procedure

  1. Click Patterns > Virtual System Instances.
  2. Select the virtual system instance.
    The virtual system instance details display.
  3. Click Manage in the toolbar.
  4. Click Monitoring > Virtual Machine.
    The Virtual Machine Monitoring page displays. Select a virtual machine that you want to monitor. The Memory, Processor, Network and Storage monitoring charts display.
