Install the language packs on any system where you have
installed the Tivoli Enterprise Portal or where you have installed
a desktop client. (If you download and run a desktop client using
Web Start, you do not need to install the language packs on the local
system. They are downloaded from the portal server.)
Before you begin
First, make sure that you installed the external Cloud Pak System Software Agent in the
English language. Also ensure that Java Runtime Environment version
1.5 or above is installed and set in the system path.
About this task
Install a language pack on any system where you have installed
either the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server or the Tivoli Enterprise
Portal desktop client.
Procedure
- On the language pack CD, double-click the lpinstaller.bat file
to start the installation program.
Attention: If
you would like to use console mode instead, open the
command
prompt window, navigate to the language pack CD directory
and then enter the following command to start the installation process:
lpinstaller.bat candle_home -i console
where
candle_home is
the IBM®Tivoli® Monitoring base directory.
Important: Should you choose to proceed in console mode, note
that for the rest of these instructions, options are selected by entering
numbers corresponding to the options in the console as opposed to
clicks of your mouse.
- Select the language of the installer and click OK.
- In the Introduction panel, click Next
- Click Add/Update and click Next.
- Select the folder where the National Language Support package
(NLSPackage) files are located. Typically, the
NLSPackage files are located in the nlspackage folder
where the installer executable file is located.
- Select the language support for the agent of your choice
and click Next. In this case select Monitoring
Agent for Cloud Pak System.
You can make multiple selections, by pressing Ctrl and selecting the
language that you want.
- Select the languages that you want to install and click Next.
- Examine the installation summary page and click Next to
begin installation.
- After installation completes, click Finish to
exit the installer.
- Restart the Tivoli Enterprise
Portal, Tivoli Enterprise
Portal Server, and Eclipse Help Server.
Results
The language pack is installed on the computer.
