Commit IBM Spectrum Scale version update
This operation commits the IBM Spectrum Scale version that was updated for a deployed IBM Spectrum Scale instance.
About this task
This operation can be performed only on the IBM Spectrum Scale Primary server instance and on the IBM Spectrum Scale Client instance. If you attempt to run this operation on the Mirror, Tiebreaker, or Passive instances, you receive an error.
This operation will not complete successfully in the following cases:
- The updated IBM Spectrum Scale Server deployment is in update pending state, meaning that the update is not yet committed on all the IBM Spectrum Scale Server instances in the cluster. Ensure that the IBM Spectrum Scale instance update process has completed successfully, and that you used the Commit function in the instance details to commit the update for all IBM Spectrum Scale server instances in the cluster.
- When updating the IBM Spectrum Scale Client, the IBM Spectrum Scale Server that the client communicates with is not yet upgraded and committed to the new IBM Spectrum Scale version. The commit operation verifies that the IBM Spectrum Scale Servers are already updated and committed before committing the client.
