Installing the Quick Start Edition Docker image

After satisfying the system requirements for the Quick Start Edition Docker image, you can install, start, and use the image to explore the features of IBM® Streams. These options enable you to get started more quickly.

Procedure

You can obtain the Quick Start Edition Docker image from the following sources:
  • IBM Software Download: Requirements, installation, and setup instructions are at http://ibmstreams.github.io/streamsx.documentation/docs/4.3/qse-install-docker/.

    This download is approximately 3 GB. It includes a script to build the local Docker image. This option is the best choice if you have a low-speed Internet connection.

  • Docker Hub: Download, requirements, installation, and setup instructions.

    This download is approximately 10 GB. You can download the Docker image directly with one command. This option is best if you have a high-speed Internet connection with unlimited usage.
