Netcool Operations Insight Probes

IBM® Netcool® Operations Insight integrates infrastructure and operations management into a single coherent solution across business applications, virtualized servers, network devices and protocols, internet protocols, and security and storage devices.

With Netcool Operations Insight, you can receive and correlate operational data, like events from different sources, so your operators can detect the cause of failures. The faster that they know about the cause, the faster they can restore your systems and get you back in business. One of the standard mechanisms for Netcool Operations Insight to retrieve data is through the concept of probes. Probes retrieve events from a dedicated source, tweak the data so it aligns with the expected format for OMNIbus, set custom fields, and then forward the event to OMNIbus. You can use a sample configuration to receive events through the Netcool Operations Insight Message Bus probe. Different sources collect all key information about the health of your applications.

You can download the Netcool Operations Insight probe charts, for use with IBM Cloud Private, from IBM Passport Advantage. Probe charts enable integration with systems using Logstash, Prometheus, HTTP (Webhook), SNMP, Syslogd, and Kafka.
