If you do not have a prepared body of texts to import,
you can build a content set manually by copying and pasting, or typing
them in, one-by-one.
Before you begin
If you are new to
Classification Workbench,
you might want to review
Defining fields before following this procedure.
About this task
To manually create a new content set, you
must define the content set data structure (that is, define the set
of fields that will represent each content item). For example, you
define a field for the body text, and the category (required). Then
you enter data and define categories for each content item.
To manually create a content set:
Procedure
- In the New Project wizard, select Create
an empty project and click Finish.
- In the main window, add fields and define
their properties by right-clicking on the Field Definitions panel. For example, you could add a field called Message (data type=string,
content type=body) to store message text, and a field called Category
(data type=classification, select Designate as categories
field) to store each item's classification. For more information,
see Field properties.
- Enter new content items as follows:
- On the Content Set menu,
click New Item.
- In the Item Fields list
on the New Content Item Properties window, expand
a field and double-click its value (marked <empty>).
- In the Edit Field window,
type or paste text for the selected field and click OK.
- Optional: Categorize the content
item by clicking Assign Category in the Assigned
Categories area.
- Click Done. The item is assigned an ID number and is added to the
content set.
- Repeat steps 3-5 to enter each item into
the content set.
Tip: Save your content set
often. If you exit Classification Workbench without
saving, you are prompted to save.
Individual
items are displayed as rows on the content set page. To display the
content set page, click View All Content Items on
the toolbar.
