The various states of the power supply light-emitting
diodes (LEDs) can be used to identify or verify a power supply that
you are servicing.
The power supply has three LEDs that indicate the power supply
status:
- An ac power LED (green, at the right of the three LEDs)
- A dc power LED (green, in the middle of the three LEDs)
- An error and identify function LED (amber, at the left of the
three LEDs)
The power supply LEDs are visible after opening the rear door of
the rack.
To activate the identify function, see Identifying a failing part.
The following list provides the descriptions for the states of
the power supply LEDs:
- If both the ac power and dc power (green) LEDs are on solid (not
flashing) and the error and identify function (amber) LED is off,
the power supply is operating correctly.
- If the ac power LED is on, the dc power LED is flashing, and the
error and identify function (amber) LED is off, then the system is
turned off, but the power supply is still connected to the power source.
- If the error and identify function (amber) LED is flashing, the
power supply identify function has been selected.
- If the error and identify function (amber) LED is flashing, the
ac power LED is on solid, and the dc power LED is off, then the power
supply is not operating correctly and has been identified for replacement.
