Logging in with a temporary password after a password reset
Use this information to log in with a temporary password in the IBM® Flex System Manager management software web interface or command-line interface (CLI).
When an administrator resets a user password in the management software web interface or CLI, the user is assigned a temporary password by the administrator.
The following procedures describe the procedure that the user must follow to log in with the temporary password and enter a new password. For more information about login errors, see Login problems.
Logging into the web interface after a password reset
After
the administrator who reset your password provides you with your temporary
password, complete the following steps:
- Log in to the web interface with your user ID and temporary password. The Log in page refreshes.
- In the Old Password field, type the temporary password.
- In the New Password field, enter a new
password.Note: For more information about the required criteria for new passwords, see Setting a new password.
- In the Confirm New Password field, enter the new password again.
- Click Log in.
The Log in page refreshes, and you can log in with your user ID and new password.
Logging into the CLI after a password reset
After
the administrator who reset your password provides you with your temporary
password, complete the following steps:
- Log in to the CLI with your user ID and temporary password.
- When you are prompted, You are required to change your
LDAP password immediately. Enter login(LDAP) password:, enter
the temporary password.Note: If you do not enter the temporary password immediately, your account is locked out of the management software.
- When you are prompted, Enter login(LDAP) password:, enter the temporary password again.
- When you are prompted, New LDAP password:, enter
a new password.Note: For more information about the required criteria for new passwords, see Setting a new password.
- When you are prompted, Retype new LDAP password:,
enter the new password again. The following message is displayed:
