Te veel water, te weinig water, schoon water!

Terwijl deskundigen in Rotterdam zich buigen over de problematiek van wateroverlast in stedelijke gebieden, werkt mijn laptop een aantal uren per dag mee aan het zoeken naar oplossingen voor schoon drinkwater. Dat gaat heel simpel en je merkt er vrijwel niets van. Met mij stellen al meer dan 500.000 mensen hun ongebruikte computertijd beschikbaar voor deze vorm van ‘vrijwilligerswerk’. Zo ontstaat een reusachtig netwerk – grid – van computerkracht waarmee onderzoekers wereldwijd vaart kunnen maken bij het doen van research. Naar medicijnen tegen HIV, kanker en spierziekten, naar oplossingen voor schone energie  en schoon drinkwater. Slim idee. Doe je mee?
