Slovenian Top Chef
Matjaž Cotič comes from the Vipava wine region, where he grew up surrounded by nature; very early on, he discovered the traditional harmonious flavours of local cuisine.
He started his professional career at one of the most frequented restaurants in the nearby town along the Italian border, which is where his respect for excellent food and wine so typical of Italy comes from.
Due to his exceptional talent, he was quickly promoted to leading positions in the kitchen and paved his way to the national culinary team.
Soon, he started to receive invitations to various places and international restaurants around the world, mostly in the nearby Italy, where he earned many recognitions for his work.
As a chef, he has worked with one of the largest pasta companies in the world, promoting their products around the globe.
In 2015, Cotič won the 2nd place at the Pasta World Championship.
Today, he inspires with his exquisite dishes at the diVino restaurant in the BTC City shopping centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
