Typically, an engagement starts with identifying/defining the problem, determining the facts and client’s future business and security requirements before suggesting any solutions. When performing consultancy engagements, IBM Security Services is always product- and vendor-agnostic. After the preliminary meetings, the actual assessment/strategy consultancy work can begin, followed by a design and build phase. In the extension of this phase the run and enhance phase is taking over followed by an optimization phase at the end. This is the generic flow of a Security Services engagement.

Overview of our Consulting Services Offering Portfolio:

We will now present our service offering portfolio, which are divided into 7 different areas. The first area is Security Strategy, Risk and Compliance (SSRC). This area focus on security strategy and planning, security frameworks, and risk. Next area is Security Intelligence and Operations Consulting (SIOC), which focus primarily on Security Operations Center (SOC) as well as on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. The third and fourth area is Cyber Security Assessment and Response (CSAR), which is divided into X-Force Red (focusing on pen-testing) and X-Force IRIS (focusing on incident response and intelligence services). The area of CSAR hence focus on emergency and incident response, pen testing etc. Up next is the Identify and Access Management (IAM), which focus on identity and access strategy and assessment, access and authentication design, deployment and IAM. The sixth area is Data and Application Security (DAS), this area focus on data protection and discovery, data security strategy and architecture, data loss prevention and encryption and application assessments. Within this area, we also find the new compliance rules within the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The final area is Infrastructure and Endpoint Security (IES), which focus on network security, mobile and endpoints.
