Stand up and deliver

IT and comedy (stand up) seem to be 2 different worlds, maybe with the exception of cartoons like Dilbert that regularly make fun of the IT world. But can IT learn from comedy?

Having done various types of comedy for more than 20 years, I answer with a definite YES! My most valuable comedy lesson was learning to fail and embrace it as part of becoming better and develop testing strategies. Things that now really help as we are encouraging customers to test more and earlier on the mainframe.

This video shows a little excerpt from my “Stand up and deliver”-presentation, focusing on the testing aspect.

We will demonstrate some of the mentioned unit testing capability on our Large Systems Update (Finland 21.-22.10, Denmark 22.-23.10., Sweden 23.-24.10., and Norway 24.-25.10. So come by and watch us fail 😉

By the way, I am also trying to bring a bit of fun directly to the mainframe, check out my mainframe music video channel.
