New free IBM Cloud Core badge and Intro to Cloud digital course

An all-new, free Intro to Cloud course is available from IBM. This course is designed for all audiences — no experience necessary. It can be completed in less than a day.
Intro to Cloud presents a vendor-neutral overview of cloud computing and top use cases. A lab shows how to set up a free IBM Cloud account. Learners can earn their IBM Cloud Core badge by completing the course and passing the final exam.
This course has become popular, in part, because it’s a good diversion during life under lock-down:
- It’s free
- Content is relevant and interesting to a wide audience
- The course and its modules are short
- The course is available anytime, on demand
Whatever the reasons, this course works well in the current climate. For example, during its beta test in the first quarter, over 1,000 people completed the course and earned their IBM Cloud Core badge. An instructor-assisted version built for the IBM Think Digital conference in May is full and has a full waitlist.
Course designers are welcome to take a look for ideas that may help during these unprecedented times. We plan to build more IBM Cloud courses using this model.
