IBM Security – Keeping The Flag Flying High

Share this post:

It is with immense pride that I want to share a couple of significant announcements related to our security portfolio.

IBM Security QRadar, our flagship security software offering, has been positioned as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM. Also, IBM is positioned as a leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Cloud Security Services 2021.

Let me talk about QRadar first. This is not the first, second or third time – it is the 12th consecutive time that this has happened. Incredible, isn’t it?

Enterprises today in India, and rest of the world, are in full swing on their digital transformation journeys – some a little further ahead, others not too far behind.

As a result, the threat landscape is evolving, growing in scale and complexity:

  • There was a 160% increase in data theft in 2020 versus 2019.
  • On an average, it could take up to 313 days to identify and contain a breach.

As a leader tasked with ensuring cybersecurity for your organization, you are dealing with a lot of things – proactively managing and responding to security threats, working with multiple vendors and security tools, supporting migration of your organization’s workloads to cloud – and doing all of this possibly with a shortage of skilled resources.

Today, to get insight into your most critical threats, you need intelligent security analytics!

We, at IBM Security, realize this. We have continued to invest in QRadar to stay ahead of the needs of the changing cybersecurity landscape. QRadar security analytics platform ingests vast amount of data, applies real-time, automated security intelligence, and enables AI-powered investigations – all managed from a single interface.

IBM Security QRadar is helping security teams be more efficient and more effective.

The validation of this is the Gartner ranking, which comes on top of what we have been hearing from QRadar customers.

IBM Security has a large community of QRadar customers in India, who are a guiding force contributing immensely to the evolution of QRadar as a threat management platform.

Let me talk about IBM Cloud Security Services now.

In 2020, businesses shifted swiftly to the cloud to adapt to new remote work needs. In fact, today, 98% of organizations that have already embraced the cloud, use not just one, but multiple cloud environments to support their business needs. While enterprises will continue with their digital transformation journey, we still see 80% of mission-critical workloads have not yet migrated to the cloud. The latest X-Force Threat Intelligence Index 2021 highlighted that cloud-based attacks have been on a rise globally. This continues to be a key deterrent for organizations to move mission-critical workloads to the cloud.

It is thus fair to say that Cloud security is critical to business growth.

Securing a hybrid multicloud environment, however, requires a different approach than previous security programs that solely considered on-premise environments. It requires building security into every phase of the cloud journey.

Enterprises need to create a holistic security strategy that prepares them for the journey ahead, assess their current state of cloud readiness, define their ideal cloud security future state based on the business and privacy/regulatory requirements, and create a roadmap to a secure hybrid multicloud.

And that is where IBM Cloud Security Services come in.

IBM Positioned as a Leader

We offer an open, automated approach to help simplify hybrid cloud security – bringing together cloud-agnostic security expertise together with an integrated set of cloud, proprietary and third-party technology solutions.

To put it crisply, IBM Cloud Security Services help enterprises move confidently to cloud by integrating security into every phase of your cloud journey.
