Shari Trewin
Dr. Shari Trewin is Program Director of the IBM Accessibility team. She is passionate about inclusive technology that works for people with diverse abilities. Her team sets IBM standards for accessibility, tracks status, and provides tools and guidance to smooth the journey. She’s made research contributions in AI fairness, accessibility tools, access to virtual worlds, and self-adaptive input devices, with 21 issued patents and over 70 peer-reviewed or invited publications. Dr Trewin served as an associate editor of TACCESS, the principal journal of accessible computing, is Past Chair of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing (SIGACCESS), and is a Distinguished Scientist of the ACM.
