Edward Calvesbert

Edward Calvesbert has over 20 years of experience driving transformational initiatives in advisory and senior management roles in the private, public, and non-for-profit sectors. Edward is the Director of Product Management for IBM’s Data Management portfolio across both the Databases for z/OS and distributed platforms. He supports Db2, Informix, Netezza and our new watsonx.data lakehouse products across hybrid-cloud software and SaaS. In his prior role in Data and AI Business Development, he supported the recruitment, onboarding, and launch of some of our strategic OEM partnerships with MongoDB, EDB, DataStax, and SingleStore. Edward started his career at IBM as the Product Manager for IBM DataWorks / Watson Data Platform. Prior to IBM, Edward was the Vice President of Information Technology for Doral Bank, a publicly traded mortgage and retail bank with operations in NY, FL, and PR. He also dedicated 4 years of his career to public service, including as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce of the Government of Puerto Rico. Edward began his career as the 2nd employee at a Silicon Valley startup in 2000 focused on RFID middleware for supply chain and asset management that was sold to Fujitsu. Edward holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, an MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a BSE in the same field from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Austin, TX with his wife and two young daughters and enjoys golf, hiking and water sports.
