Deepra Yusuf

Deepra Yusuf has joined Columbia University as the Director of Strategy and Operations for the Columbia University-IBM Center for Blockchain and Data Transparency. Deepra joins the Center from Columbia Technology Ventures where she was the Operations Director of Cyber NYC Inventors to Founders. Deepra received her Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to that Deepra worked as a fair lending compliance analyst for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Deepra brings a strong background in algorithmic fairness. Most recently, Deepra co-authored automating.nyc — a website that evaluates the ethical use of algorithmic systems used by city government.
